KABA Mentorship Program 2013
KABA's
mentorship program is designed to bolster the resources available to
KABA members seeking to further develop their careers. The mentorship
program will create opportunities
for law students as well as attorneys to learn from more senior
attorneys that have relevant experience in their area(s) of interest.
Mentees will be matched with mentors based on their professional goals
and interests. Mentors will offer guidance and share
resources to support the mentee's professional development. Mentors will
include government attorneys, law firm partners, judges, public
interest lawyers, and in-house counsel.
Program Guidelines:
- The mentor-mentee relationship commitment is one year (February 15, 2013 - January 31, 2014)
- Mentors and mentees will be expected to communicate a minimum of four (4) times during the year (via phone, e-mail, etc.) and meet in-person at least twice during the year.
- Mentors and mentees are encouraged to attend KABA events together, including a kick-off event for the mentorship program that will take place during the third week of February 2013.
- Mentees can be law students or attorneys. Attorneys who seek mentors will be matched with attorneys or judges that have relevant and extensive experience in the mentee's area(s) of interest.
- Mentor applicants must be practicing attorneys or judges with at least five (5) years of legal experience.
